Edwards Family Housing NeighborhoodThe Military Housing Office (MHO) welcomes you and is here to support your transition to your new home and community. Please use the available resources to become familiar with the housing options and services available to you. When you arrive at Edwards Air Force Base you are required to contact the MHO for a housing briefing. To begin the process, you would first go to www.homes.mil and complete the Housing Early Assistance Tool application. Your HEAT application allows us to quickly determine what type of briefing you need and schedule this with you. The briefing will provide counseling and guidance to you prior to entering into a written lease or rental/sales contract.

WHAT IS HEAT?

Housing Early Assistance Tool (HEAT) creates an easy on-line experience to connect you, the Service Member, with your future destination and offers an on-line venue to obtain housing assistance prior to a PCS transfer. HQ Air Force Housing has successfully implemented HEAT across the AF Enterprise so members can reach out to installations when preparing for transition. Installations are accessible through the HEAT tool across CONUS and most OCONUS installations. Members should use HEAT when preparing to transfer to their new assignment.
