REFERRAL AND RELOCATION ASSISTANCE

Developing a sense of community starts before you arrive at Holloman. We recognize the efforts behind this transition and want to make sure you are satisfied with the details of your move. To obtain referral and relocation assistance, we encourage you to reach out for personalized services provided by the Military Housing Office (MHO) staff. 

Holloman is located in New Mexico's Tularosa Basin between the Sacramento and San Andreas mountain ranges and is approximately 10 miles from Alamogordo. The area surrounding the base is one reason New Mexico is called "The Land of Enchantment". Alamogordo is the site of the oldest zoo in the southwestern United States. It is also the home of the New Mexico Museum of Space History and the Clyde W. Tombaugh IMAX Dome Theater. Ten miles from Holloman is White Sands National Monument which is one of the largest gypsum deposits in the world. Take a short drive to the Lincoln National Forest which provides year-round enjoyment with camping, hiking on the cool mountain meadow trails or skiing during the winter months. There is an abundance of year round activities for families and singles alike. 

HOUSING ALLOWANCES

Military members are entitled to various allowances to ensure the transition to a new location is as smooth and stress free as possible. If you have any questions about the allowance listed, please contact the MHO. 

Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH)
Military members assigned to Holloman receive Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH). The purpose of the BAH program is to provide housing allowances to service members based on median housing costs in local civilian markets. The DoD determines the correct housing allowance to enable members to afford suitable housing within a reasonable distance of their duty location. The allowance is set based on geographic duty location, pay grade, and dependent status and is adjusted each year.
